Small but...

Despite being the smallest state in the European Union, the City of London's 2008
Global Financial Services Index ranked Malta:

• 4th financial services centre most likely to increase in importance in the
  next few years

• 5th financial services centre where organisations are likely to start new
  operations in the next two to three years.

These are not unrealistic prospects, considering Malta's over 40 years of success
in the sphere of foreign investment. As a matter of fact, UNCTAD's World Investment
Report 2008 ranks Malta:

• 4th globally for inward direct investment performance.
